Increase Adhesion in Electrical Potting

Electrical potting protects electronics from shock, vibration and environmental elements, including liquids and corrosive substances. A potting compound is often used by manufactures in the electrical housing of a product. These solid or gelatinous compounds such as silicone or thermosetting plastics surrounds electronic components for added protection.

Housings are generally mad from nonporous low surface energy plastic such as Polyamide, ABS or other thermoset plastics. Treaters pretreat the housings interior to remove contaminants and increase surface energy to enable adhesion of the potting compound.
